"Under the Glass Cap" is the only novel by the American writer Sylvia Plath (1932–1963), known primarily as a poet. The novel, largely autobiographical, describes the experience of a young woman trying to overcome major depressive disorder (as experts retrospectively classify her illness). The book was published in 1963, ten years later and a few weeks before Plath's suicide. The novel was published in Ukrainian for the first time.
